Another example of why the voice of people of faith should not be marginalized.  Although I believe calling the thinking of the magisterium “quite modern” or “old-fashioned” should be translated as “I agree” or “I disagree” with… The church speaks the truth as it understands it in light of revelation.  Rational thinking people who make the effort to read encyclicals, often find much more agreement with these “teaching documents” than they would have ever thought possible.  In other words, they may agree with what the church actually teaches, while they adamantly disagree with what they think the church teaches.
